Your Visit to Downes Leigh 0n Sea
When you make your appointment please ask if you prefer to see a particular veterinary surgeon.
On arrival you will be greeted by our friendly experienced reception staff who will register your details on our computer system (if we don't know you already) This information will then be available at all of our surgeries.
After a consultation in one of our two consulting rooms, our veterinary surgeons may recommend investigations using our our up to date diagnostic equipment including
X-ray, and Laboratory testing (in house and using a high quality external laboratory)
If needed we offer major and minor surgery including dentistry soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics.
If your pet needs to stay in for treatment we have separate cat ward and isolate ward.

Margaret Daziano BVMS MRCVS. Practice Partner. Qualified from Glasgow Vet School in 1985 and joined Downes in 1986. Margaret, like all the vets at Downes, is happy to treat a wide variety of ailments in a wide range of species but her special interests are cat medicine, dentistry, eye problems, and more recently having kept pet chickens, treating hens and ducks. Margaret has two much loved rescue cats, Barney who is fourteen years old and pictured here, and Claude the recent addition who has just had his first birthday. |

Ioana Junquera, DVM MRCVS is from Spain. She has studied in Spain and Slovakia, and graduated in 2004 from León University, Spain. Ioana came to the UK in 2005, when she registered as a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Ioana has practiced Veterinary Medicine in a wide variety of situations: from Wildlife Rescue Centres in Spain to charity work treating and neutering strays in the Indian Himalayas. She has developed a keen interest in unusual and exotic pets, especially rabbits, guinea pigs and all other small mammals. She is also very happy to treat birds (including birds of prey) and reptiles as a first opinion vet. Ioana joined our team at Downes in March 2011, and her experience and special interests have quickly made her an asset to the team. In her spare time, Ioana enjoys photography and travelling. |

The Facilities
The Leigh surgery has two consulting rooms, kennels, with a separate cat ward and an isolate area, preparation room with dental, x-ray, laboratory and ultrasound facilities and an operating theatre (where minor and major surgery is carried out).
