Client Information

 

WHEN BRINGING YOUR PET IN FOR SURGERY BLOOD TESTS OR ULTRASOUND.

 

  1. Do not give food or fluids other than water after 8pm the previous night. A small quantity of water may be left down overnight.

  1. Please bring your pet to the surgery between 9am and 10am unless otherwise advised. Will you make sure the receptionist has a contact telephone number and that we have your correct details on our records.

  1. Please take dog leads or harnesses away with you.

  1. Please telephone the surgery after 3pm for information regarding your pet’s recovery or between 4.30pm and 5pm for results of laboratory tests.

 

WHEN YOU COLLECT YOUR PET.

  1. Follow any specific instructions given by the veterinary surgeon or nurse

  1. Keep your pet warm and quiet.

  1. Only offer a small light meal (chicken or white fish) if your pet is worrying for food.

  1. Stop your pet from licking or biting the wound.

  1. One or both forearms may be clipped to aid the intravenous injection of anaesthetic.

  1. If you have any worries do not hesitate to contact us for advice.
